Saisonh\u00f6hepunkt sind die 500 Meilen von Indianapolis.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201eRacing Toward Zero\u201c hei\u00dft die Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie der IndyCar-Serie. Dabei geht es Penske Entertainment nicht nur um Klimaschutz, sondern auch um Inklusion. 2023 ver\u00f6ffentlichte die Serie erstmals in ihrer Geschichte einen Nachhaltigkeitsbericht. Zudem werden inzwischen die gesamten Emissionen der Serie erfasst, um die zuk\u00fcnftige Strategie entwickeln zu k\u00f6nnen. \u00c4hnlich wie in anderen Rennserien entsteht der Gro\u00dfteil der Emissionen nicht durch die Fahrzeuge selbst, sondern durch Logistik, Infrastruktur und Reiset\u00e4tigkeiten rund um die Veranstaltungen.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Rennfahrzeuge<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anders als in der Formel 1 stellen die Teams der IndyCar-Serie die Hauptkomponenten Chassis und Motor nicht selbst her, sondern kaufen diese fertig ein. Dallara liefert seit der Saison 2012 mit dem DW12 ein Einheitschassis, die ebenfalls seit 2012 eingesetzten 2,2-Liter-V6-Turbomotoren stammen von Chevrolet und Honda.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Hybridsystem<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seit Juli 2024 kommt ein einheitliches Hybrid-System zum Einsatz. Es besteht aus einer 48-Volt-MGU und einem Energiespeichersystem in Form von 20 Ultrakondensatoren. Die w\u00e4hrend der Regeneration gewonnene Energie wird gespeichert und kann vom Fahrer per Knopfdruck \u00e4hnlich wie bei einem Push-to-Pass-System abgerufen werden. Das System stellt einen wichtigen Technologieschritt dar und verbessert sowohl die Energieeffizienz als auch die strategischen Einsatzm\u00f6glichkeiten w\u00e4hrend des Rennens.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Kraftstoffe<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2023 war die IndyCar-Serie die erste Rennserie Nordamerikas, die auf einen 100 % erneuerbaren Rennkraftstoff umstellte. Der von Shell entwickelte Krafstoff besteht aus Ethanol der zweiten Generation, das \u00fcberwiegend Zuckerrohrabf\u00e4lle verwendet. Im Vergleich zum Ethanol der ersten Generation kann es die Produktionskapazit\u00e4t auf derselben Anbaufl\u00e4che nahezu verdoppeln kann. Die Nutzung von Ethanol spiegelt zudem die Bedeutung von Biokraftstoffen im nordamerikanischen Energiemarkt wider und unterstreicht die enge Verbindung zwischen Motorsport und nationaler Energiepolitik.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Reifen<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firestone hat f\u00fcr die IndyCar-Serie einen Reifen entwickelt, dessen Seitenw\u00e4nde aus nachhaltigem Naturkautschuk besteht. Er wird aus dem Guayule-Strauch gewonnen, einer Pflanze mit geringem Wasserverbrauch, der im W\u00fcstenklima gedeiht. Seit 2023 kommt dieser Reifen in der IndyCar-Serie als Optionsreifen auf allen Stadtkursen zum Einsatz. F\u00fcr alle anderen Reifen nutzt Firestone inzwischen ISCC-zertifizierten synthetischen Kautschuk aus recycelten Kunststoffen.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Abfallreduzierung<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bei den Veranstaltungen der IndyCar-Serie werden Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Reduzierung des Abfalls und zur F\u00f6rderung des Recyclings implementiert, einschlie\u00dflich der Bereitstellung von Recyclingbeh\u00e4ltern und der Reduzierung von Einwegplastik.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Nachhaltige Eventplanung<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Veranstaltungsorte und Teams setzen auf energieeffiziente Technologien und Praktiken, um den Energieverbrauch zu minimieren. Dazu geh\u00f6ren LED-Beleuchtung und der Einsatz von erneuerbaren Energien, wo m\u00f6glich. Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Reduzierung des Wasserverbrauchs und zum Schutz der nat\u00fcrlichen Ressourcen werden bei der Planung und Durchf\u00fchrung von Rennen ber\u00fccksichtigt.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Logistik und Transport<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Serie optimiert die Transportwege und -methoden, um den CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Fu\u00dfabdruck zu verringern. Dies umfasst die Nutzung von effizienteren Fahrzeugen und die Planung von Rennkalendern, um unn\u00f6tige Reisen zu vermeiden. Die Transportfahrzeuge der Serie werden inzwischen mit erneuerbarem Diesel betankt.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>IndyCar als Vorbild<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IndyCar nutzt seine Plattform, um das Bewusstsein f\u00fcr Umweltfragen zu sch\u00e4rfen und Fans \u00fcber nachhaltige Praktiken zu informieren. Durch Bildungsprogramme und Initiativen wird das Bewusstsein f\u00fcr die Bedeutung von Nachhaltigkeit im Motorsport und dar\u00fcber hinaus gef\u00f6rdert.
