Weil der Rallyesport eng mit der Umwelt verbunden ist und in einzigartigen Landschaften ausgetragen wird, ist eine gesunde Umwelt f\u00fcr den Sport von gro\u00dfer Bedeutung. Die WRC m\u00f6chte den Weg f\u00fcr nachhaltige Technologien ebnen \u2013 nicht nur f\u00fcr den Rallyesport, sondern f\u00fcr die gesamte Automobilindustrie. Man m\u00f6chte Grenzen verschieben, neue Energiequellen erforschen und f\u00fcr saubere Abl\u00e4ufe sorgen. Die Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie der WRC ist auf einer Linie mit der des Weltverbandes FIA und den Nachhaltigkeitszielen der Vereinten Nationen. Das Ziel ist \u201eNet Zero\u201c im Jahr 2030.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Kraftstoffe<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die WRC war die erste Weltmeisterschaft der FIA, die 100 % nachhaltige Kraftstoffe eingesetzt hat. Die Kraftstoffe \u00a0sind aus erneuerbaren Quellen hergestellt und helfen, den \u00f6kologischen Fu\u00dfabdruck der Serie zu verringern. Laut der WRC Promoter GmbH konnte der CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Aussto\u00df durch den Einsatz der nachhaltigen Kraftstoffe um 77 % reduziert werden.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Biodiversit\u00e4t und \u00d6kosystemschutz<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die WRC initiiert in den Regionen, in denen sie WM-L\u00e4ufe austr\u00e4gt, Projekte, die dem Naturschutz dienen. Bei der Safari-Rallye in Kenia wurde durch das Pflanzen von 19 Millionen Setzlingen in drei Jahren versucht, die \u00d6kosysteme wiederherzustellen und aufzuforsten. 2024 wurde ein Naturmanagement-Tool implementiert, um Umweltbewertungen und Risikobewertungen bei Veranstaltungen durchzuf\u00fchren. Ziel der WRC ist es, in Zusammenarbeit mit den lokalen Veranstaltern einen positiven Impact auf die jeweilige Region der Rallyes zu haben.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Regenerative Energie<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Einige Serviceparks und tempor\u00e4re Einrichtungen nutzen bereits erneuerbare Energiequellen wie Solar- und Windenergie, um ihren Strombedarf zu decken.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Events<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seit 2016 sind alle Veranstalter der WRC verpflichtet, die h\u00f6chste 3-Sterne-Umweltakkreditierung der FIA zu erreichen. Diese umfasst strenge Kriterien in Bereichen wie Energie, Wasser, Abfall, Beschaffung, Transport, Biodiversit\u00e4t und CO<sub>2<\/sub>-\u00dcberwachung. Ab 2025 m\u00f6chte die WRC ein Freiwilligenprogramm zur F\u00f6rderung der Nachhaltigkeit bei ihren Veranstaltungen einf\u00fchren. Ab 2026 werden nachhaltige Eventstandards implementiert, einschlie\u00dflich Recycling und nachhaltigem Catering.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Logistik und Transport<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ab 2027 werden \u00fcber 50% der Veranstaltungen nachhaltigere Logistikrouten priorisieren, um den \u00f6kologischen Fu\u00dfabdruck zu verringern. Bereits deutlich reduziert wurde das Gewicht des Materials, das bei den WRC-Veranstaltungen zum Einsatz kommt. 2023 wurde die TV-Produktion der \u00dcbersee-Events erstmals remote aus Helsinki durchgef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n\n<h6><strong>Beyond Rally<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die WRC organisiert im Rahmen der Rallyes Innovations-Foren unter dem Label \u201eBeyond Rally\u201c. Dabei werden nachhaltige Motorsport-Technologien, die Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen Beh\u00f6rden und Initiativen zur Erhaltung der biologischen Vielfalt vorgestellt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Hybridantrieb (2022\u20132024)<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zur Saison 2022 f\u00fchrte die WRC Hybridfahrzeuge ein. Die neuen Rally1-Fahrzeuge kombinierten klassische Verbrennungsmotoren mit einem elektrischen Antriebssystem. Beim Bremsen wurde Energie rekuperiert. Dies reduzierte den Kraftstoffverbrauch und die CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Emissionen. Auf Kostengr\u00fcnden wurde das Projekt Ende 2024 aufgegeben.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>2027 soll ein komplett neues Technisches Reglement gelten. Dann k\u00f6nnte es zu einem Comeback des Hybridantrieb kommen.
